The parietal lobe is an important part of your brain. The parietal lobe processes touch, temperature, and taste. It plays an important role in processing information from your sensory. It is placed near the back of the brain, in front of the occipital lobe. The central sulcus separates the parietal lobe from the frontal lobe.
The left hemisphere of the lobe processes language and mathematics. The right hemisphere processes images and helps you understand maps.
Damage to the right hemisphere of the lobe results in loss of imagery. Damage to the left hemisphere is called Gertsmann's syndrome which makes it hard to do long reading, mathematics, writing, and causes left and right confusion.
